HABEMUS NAUFRAGIUM

In urgent need of adapting to a constantly changing environment, two beings struggle for survival, mutating into unlikely forms and adopting fantastical identities.
Sometimes fused together, their bodies entangled, sometimes driven by a pressing need to distance themselves, they seek to reconnect with their own animal nature.
Bold and reckless, like the challenges they face, they try... try their luck... fail... Their evolutionary journey suggests that unity and mutual support are the keys to their survival.
Peeling away layer after layer of the thick shells grafted onto them by a frenetic society, their bodies unite and metamorphose into a mysterious sea creature.
Calm returns, and with long, slender, hypnotic movements, the creature moves forward in perfect harmony with the noisy ocean that surrounds it... but for how long? Haven't we learned to be wary of mirages?
Performed by dancers Anna-Maria Besnier Bayon and Silvia Pezzarossi, Habemus Naufragium is a contemporary dance duet that depicts the perpetual metamorphosis and mutual support necessary for two beings struggling for survival.
